In fact, key indices closed well above important technical levels. Sensex ended the day at 14,104, up 254 points from the previous close. Nifty shut shop at 4240, up 80 points. CNX Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices gained 2% and 1.5% respectively. Power, FMCG, metal, banking and capital goods stocks led the rally, while auto stocks were the laggards. Top Sensex gainers include Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL, Wipro, ITC, SBI, Tata Steel, while losers were Maruti Suzuki, JP Associates, Tata Motors, among others.
3:47 PM - One can buy LIC Housing on dips, says Sudhanshu Pandey of LKP Shares, on CNBC Awaaz. It has support at Rs 200 and a short term support at Rs 240, he says. And short term resistance will come at Rs 280-300, he adds. The stock is at Rs 261.35, up 1.6% on the BSE.
