Nifty shut shop at 2656, down just 1 point. But midcaps had a good day; BSE Midcap index gained 0.9% and BSE Smallcap index, 0.4%. Realty, consumer durables and metal stocks rallied, while IT and oil & gas stocks had a bad day. Top Sensex gainers include Tata Steel, JP Associates, Maruti and DLF, while losers are Infosys, Wipro, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Communications, among others.
