Sensex ended the day at 8,739, down 100 points from the previous close. Nifty shut shop at 2657, down 25 points. BSE Midcap index lost 1.5% and BSE Smallcap index, 1.4%. FMCG stocks too gained, while auto, consumer durables, oil & gas and capital goods stocks were dumped.
