Sensex shut shop at 9715, down 261 points and Nifty at 2954, down 87 points from the previous close. CNX Midcap index was down 2.50% and BSE Smallcap index was down 2.60%. There was heavy selling in realty, metal and power stocks. The market breadth was negative with advances at 349 against declines of 912 on the NSE. Top Nifty gainers included ICICI Bank, Wipro and HDFC Bank while losers included Satyam, Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications.
